Immuno-Mycologics, Inc. (IMMY) was founded in 1979 to produce fungal diagnostic products. IMMY was founded because mycology was a virtually forgotten area in the clinical laboratory and diagnostic products for the mycoses would greatly benefit patients with mycotic infections.
Initially the company concentrated on systemic mycoses. Subsequently, they have expanded the product line into opportunistic and more esoteric fungi.
IMMY has expanded into other areas such as custom products for industry and research and a CLIA licensed Mycology Reference Laboratory, Cerodex Laboratories, Inc. The custom products include affinity and chemically purified antigens and antibodies, produced to the customer's specifications. Cerodex Laboratories accepts specimens and cultures and provides testing and identification services.
