Hitachi Groundbreaking: Warehouse In Norman Is Expected To Open In October And Will Add 75 Jobs

On Monday, January 25th, Hitachi celebrated a decision to grow in Oklahoma. The 200,000-square-foot storage and distribution facility, coupled with the Hitachi manufacturing plant at 1800 E Imhoff Road that opened in 1986, will consolidate the company’s North and South American supply chain operations in Norman.

The Hitachi Computer Products plant in Norman will more than double in size and add a significant number of jobs as its parent company moves to consolidate business operations in North America.

OU To Receive Innovator Award

The University of Oklahoma’s Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth (CCEW) has been selected to represent Oklahoma as the winner of the Southern Growth Policies Board 2010 Innovator Award. The award will be presented on June 7 in Lexington, Ky.

FINAL DAY TO REGISTER: 2010 Sooner Centurion Economic Summit - Deadline Extended To February 26, 2010

The Norman Economic Development Coalition has announced the annual Sooner Centurion Economic Summit will take place Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the OU Forum Building. The Economic Summit boasts a new revised meeting format and for the first time is open to the general public.
