NEDC Program Exceeding Expectations
In only four months, the Workforce Development office at the
Norman Economic Development Coalition has awarded almost 102 Career
Ready Certificates to Cleveland County citizens through the
WorkKeys Assessment program.

Students Aid OU Professor With Invention
Chemistry professor Robert White's gas chromatography oven
can be attached to GC ovens already in use in both academic and
private chemistry labs. The equipment separates and analyzes
compounds by heating them, but White's oven uses less energy and
reduces the amount of time spent between cycles while still
providing accurate results.A team of OU undergraduate
student interns with the Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth
spent the fall semester learning about White's product, the market
for it and its possible paths to commercialization.

Magazine names Ideal Homes Builder of the Year
A Norman company founded almost 20 years ago has been
named the Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine.
With the magazine touting the companys strength in
discipline, Ideal Homes was named Builder of the Year for
2010.

MidFirst Bank Opens Flagship Center In Norman
Oklahoma-based MidFirst Bank has banking centers all over
the state.
But until recently, they didn't have a flagship location in
Norman, one of the state's largest cities.

Riverwind Casino Opens Skybridge
After nine months of construction, Riverwind Casino officials
announced recently the opening of a skybridge that will link the
Riverwind Hotel to the casino.

Norman Market Place Opens On Intereste Drive
The Norman MarketPlace, 2302 N. Interestate Drive, is open and
features a collection of 25 vendors who offer home accessory and
gift items in individual booths.
