New CART Route To Serve HealthPlex, UNP

The N2O buses will soon be a familiar sight near the Norman Regional Hospital HealthPlex and in the University North Park Development. The new 30 minute route will begin in October 2009.

Chamber Announces Leadership Norman Class

Thirty Norman residents have been chosen to participate in the Norman Chamber of Commerce's 29th Leadership Norman class. The program is designed to identify and motivate emerging leaders through development of their potential for community leadership.

Norman Company Listed In The OKC Chamber 2009 Metro 50 List

Almost half of the businesses appearing on the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s 2009 Metro 50 list are new to the ranking of fastest-growing private companies. One of NEDC's former tenants, Weather Decision Technologies Inc, is included on the list.

OU And i2E Inc. Partner In Commercializing Technology

The University of Oklahoma and the entrepreneurial consulting agency i2E Inc. have signed an agreement to collaborate on more efficient technology transfer and commercialization efforts. The agreement strengthens a relationship that has already existed for years between the university’s Office of Technology Development and i2E, a state-funded not-for-profit agency.

MNTC Will Build IT Center In Norman

The new IT Information Building at Moore Norman Technology Center will soon be a reality. The two-story building will be constructed on 10 acres on the Franklin Road Campus in Norman.

Local Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced on September 16th that 18 areas students are among an estimated 16,000 U.S. high school seniors named semifinalists for the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program.The semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest scoring entrants from each state.

Campus Corner Is A Hot Spot For OU Game Days- Q&A With Don Wood

Campus Corner is "the” place to be before and after every home game. The quality of the restaurants and merchants in Campus Corner has improved each year, and the area is now becoming a shopping and restaurant destination. This attracts more traffic on game day and through the remainder of the year.

Legacy Park Taking Shape

Final design plans for Legacy Park, a five-acre-plus park inside the University North Park TIF district on 24th Avenue NW, were rolled out for City Council members this month. The park's design includes a large pond, wide sidewalks, water features, an amphitheater on the lake, trees, berms and decorative lighting.

Company Breaks Ground In Norman Business Park

A health-care software company -- envisioned in the small, back room of an area pharmacy -- broke ground on its headquarters building on Friday, September 11th. Health Engineering Systems will build a nearly 17,000-square-foot building in the Norman Business Park on State Highway 9, just east of 24th Avenue SE. They are currently located in three sites in Norman.
