eTec, NEDC's business incubator, provides area with another successful graduation from business incubator

KeyBridge Technologies, Inc., with the help of the emerging Technology entrepreneurial center (eTec) business incubator, enjoyed tremendous growth throughout the past three years and expanded out of the Norman Economic Development Coalition’s (NEDC) incubator last December to a base of over 200 personnel in 12 locations and 6 states.

State leading way with nanotech

Oklahoma is taking nanotechnology research and putting it to great use. Shelly Elizondo submitted a proposal on behalf of Norman-based Nanolight Inc. that would use nanotechnology to enhance the optical properties of its infrared light detectors. Nanolight Inc. is a technology based company located in NEDC’s business incubator.

Nanotech development important for Oklahoma

Some might argue that given Oklahoma's limited investment, we should ignore nanotechnology altogether and leave nanotechnology research and development to other states. That could be true, until you consider companies such as SouthWest NanoTechnology in Norman. The firm manufacturers high-quality carbon nanotubes and is on track to increase production by 30 times with costs (per gram of material) to drop by 90 percent. SouthWest NanoTechnology is a technology based company formerly located in NEDC’s business incubator.

Consulting firm seeks out ‘purple squirrels’

Ken Novotny has learned that being able to recruit the right person for a job is just as valuable as producing the work himself. Consulting Services Inc. provides highly skilled workers in areas of medical treatment support and information technology for clients Operations Manager Dave Mitchell referred to such employees as “purple squirrels,” nearly impossible-to-find candidates with the perfect set of skills to match a niche job. CSI is a technology based company formerly located in NEDC’s business incubator.
