NEDC was recently awarded for their website

By Carly Mayes

The Norman Economic Development Coalition was recently awarded for their outstanding website. The website was selected by the Economic Development Directory for recommendation to site selection professionals.

The award certifies that the website “contains development information organized for the requirements of site selection consultants, real estate departments and business people.”

“In today’s electronic age, the value of an economic development website should not be underestimated,” said Don Wood, executive director of the Norman Economic Development Coalition. “It is the portal for information that allows companies and individuals to learn about our community.”

In recent years, many site selection consultants have asked that economic development agency websites provide more of the kind of information the site selection professionals need. This award helps your websites indicate that this kind of information is presented.

“This recognition of our site in comparison to other economic development sites across the country is good news about the quality of not only our website, but also of our program,” Wood said.

The website was created for NEDC by webEprint, who is a tenant at the Emerging Technology Entrepreneurial Center (eTec).

“We are especially proud that this website was developed by one of the tenants in our incubator. We are so thankful that they are helping our efforts to encourage further economic development in the community,” Wood said.
