Atmospheric Technology Services Company gets award

Business Roundup

Atmospheric Technology Services Company, a recent tenant in the business incubator of the Norman Economic Development Coalition, has been awarded a contract to manage meteorological services at the Kwajalein Atoll in the South Pacific.

The contract is a U. S. Army competitive bid estimated to total $17.8 million over the next seven years.

The ATSC, formed in 2003, is a Native American woman-owned business on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. They provide technical services for precise data collection, measurement and analysis through the operation of weather stations.

With the growth created by this and other weather-related management contracts, ATSC has moved from the NEDC business incubator, a place in which small business establish themselves until they grow large enough to expand, to a location on the University of Oklahoma Research Campus near the National Weather Center.

More details about the Kwajalein contract and about the company are available on their Web site: www.atscwx.com. For more information on the Norman Economic Development Center, e-mail Chelsea Moore at nedc@nedcok.com.
