K20 Center opens doors at new building

K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal opened the doors of its new facility in September 2007. K20 prepares students in Oklahoma to be better citizens and to also develop a skilled workforce that can compete and collaborate globally.

Kohl’s officially opened its Norman store at 2110 N.W. 24th Ave. Wednesday, the second tenant in the University North Park TIF development.

Kohl's, TJ Maxx could give boost to Norman retail

Kohl's and TJ Maxx are expected to open this October on 24th Avenue NW, north of Robinson Street. Kohl's grand opening is scheduled Oct. 3; TJ Maxx managers at the district office expect the Norman store to open on or about Oct. 21.University North Park is a new business district expected to add a hotel, conference center, restaurants and additional retail stores over the next few years.

The University North Park is ahead of schedule. With Kohl's opening and the $50 million Embassy Suites Hotel/Conference Center ground breaking earlier this year, everything is ahead of projections.

Atmospheric Technology Services Company gets award

Atmospheric Technology Services Company, a recent tenant in the business incubator of the Norman Economic Development Coalition, has been awarded a contract to manage meteorological services at the Kwajalein Atoll in the South Pacific.

SWeNT to be honored for SBIR Achievement

Norman, Okla.-based SouthWest Nano Technologies Inc. (SWeNT) is a former business in NEDC's business accelerator. SWeNT is among 55 U.S. Companies that will be honored with the 2007 Tibbetts Award from the Small Business Technology Council at an Oct. 10 ceremony in Washington. To satisfy increasing sales, SWeNT recently broke ground for a new production facility in the Norman Business Park.



NEDC was recently awarded for their website

The Norman Economic Development Coalition was recently awarded for their outstanding website. The website was selected by the Economic Development Directory for recommendation to site selection professionals.
