WorkKeys Coordinator Receives Certification

NORMAN, OK – Beth Jones, Cleveland County WorkKeys Coordinator, recently went through Job Profiling Training at the ACT headquarters in Iowa City, Iowa. On August 17 she received her license as an authorized ACT WorkKeys Job Profiler. WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring real-world skills that employers believe are critical to job success. WorkKeys benefits business by taking the guesswork out of the employee selection process by providing them with a skills assessment report for potential employees. The increased attention to employee selection and training allows for decreased employee turnover, higher employee morale, and increases the effectiveness of an employee in a given situation.

“The services that Beth [Jones] is now licensed to perform will be a great asset to Workforce Oklahoma,” says Candice Hyde, Director of Workforce Development. “Beth has the ability to classify jobs around Cleveland County based upon a specific and detailed set of criteria which will assist in a more precise job placement system.”

As a licensed Job Profiler, Jones will determine what skill levels are required for a person to be successful in a particular occupation. These occupational profiles can be used by businesses as the basis of counseling, training, and educational systems for employees. The profiles benefit the individual by improving their opportunities for career changes and advancement. Individuals will be able to know that their skill set matches those required for their new job, providing them with the necessary confidence to be successful in their new career. If you are interested in receiving more information about WorkKeys or having a job profiled, please contact Beth Jones at (405) 310-3232 or bjones@nedcok.com.
