Schlumberger donates software to OU

The Journal Record

NORMAN – Schlumberger has donated software valued at more than $4 million to the University of Oklahoma.

The specialized software, which is used in oil and gas exploration and production, will be installed in OU’s Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering. The seismic-to-simulation software will allow students to study subsurface geology and geophysics.

Bob Davis, geology domain career leader for Schlumberger, made the gift as part of an effort to increase industry-standard geology and geophysics software knowledge for students.
