The Norman Transcript

The Hal Smith Restaurant Group announced Thursday that it will locate an 150-seat Mahogany Prime Steakhouse in the University North Park development.

"We are extremely excited about the new University Town Center development in Norman and we are looking forward to our Mahogany Prime Steakhouse grand opening," Smith said, in a prepared statement.

Mahogany serves custom-aged U.S. Prime Midwestern Beef, known for its excellence in marbling, texture and flavor. It is broiled at 900 degrees to lock in the corn-fed flavor and served on a sizzling plate to stay warm throughout the meal.

Seafood selections will include Australian rock lobster and fresh fish daily based on availability.

The restaurant will offer more than 50 wines to complement meals.

Mahogany will feature a reservation policy and private dining rooms for special occasions or business meetings. It is planned to open each day at 5 p.m. seven days a week.

The company plans to announce an opening date in late 2007.

There are Mahogany Prime Steakhouses in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Omaha, Neb.
