O’Connell’s Pub to make move to new location

O'Connell's Irish Pub and Grille will have a new location on Campus Corner this summer. The original O'Connell's will be closing in December of 2007.

Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission director: Pending legislation will bolster state's aerospace industry

Several aviation and aerospace related bills are currently making their way through the Oklahoma Legislature. If approved, one of the bills will make Oklahoma’s 49 regional business airports, including Max Westheimer, eligible for grants that can be applied to specific airport improvement projects, including the costs to construct or renovate terminals and hangars primarily used for general aviation.

Norman's Postal Training Center expands

Construction has begun on a new U.S. Postal Service facility that will help speed the automation of the country’s mail service. The new facility will be located on the NCED’s 72-acre site on Highway 9 in east Norman.

The University North Park has a new restaurant coming. Mahogany Prime Steakhouse has plans to open in late 2007.

Cleveland County to offer career assessments

Cleveland County Workforce Investment Board has introduced a new program. WorkKeys Career Readiness Program is a new assessment system that measures job skills of workers using “real world” skills needed for job success.

Technology funds go to 5 companies

Five Oklahoman businesses that want to use nanotechnology in their manufacturing processes have been awarded almost $1.25 million in the first Oklahoma Nanotechnology Applications Project Awards. The winners were: SouthWest NanoTechnologies, XetaComp Nanotechnologies, Rupture Pin Technology, Access Optics, and Martin Bionics.

Hotel, conference center considered to be 'crown jewel'

The ground breaking for the 283-room Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center was a wonderful day for Norman. John Q. Hammons Hotels is expected to begin construction of the hotel and an adjoining conference center this month.
