Taxes lowered in Norman

The Norman Transcript

Norman officials are reminding shoppers and merchants the city’s sales tax rate dropped last weekend.

As of the close of business Sept. 30, the city’s rate dropped from 3.5 percent to 3 percent.

With the state portion, the rate charged on the cash registers is now 7.5 percent.

Voters in August turned down an extension of the half percent tax that had been used for sewer system improvements.
