The Oklahoma Center for Advancement of Science and Technology
(OCAST) is working with other state organizations to develop
guidelines for companies pursuing nanotechnology.
The recently enacted Oklahoma Nanotechnology Incentive Sharing Act
makes nearly $2 million of OCASTs $10 million in new funding
available for nanotechnology applications.
Nanotechnology is based on modifying the molecular structure of
materials to make stronger, lighter, faster and more durable
products. While existing OCAST programs will continue to provide
funding for nanotechnology research, the new funding will be used
solely for application of nanotechnology processes.
