Norman- Norman-based SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. has been granted a nonexclusive license by NEC Corp., based in Tokyo, for the carbon nanotube.
NEC is a provider of Internet and broadband network services. NEC holds basic patents for single-and multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
SouthWest NanoTechnologies is a privately held independent specialty chemical company that manufactures high-quality single-wall carbon nanotubes. The company was created in 2001 to spin off nanotube research developed at the University of Oklahoma by chemical engineering professor Daniel Resasco, who serves as Southwests lead scientist.
Southwests focus is to make commercial nanotubes a reality, said David Arthur, CEO.
