OnlineMedsource Achieves Women-Owned Business Certification

OnlineMedsource, a Norman based company has achieved certification as a Women-Owned Business. Agi Lurtz, president received the certificate from Rana Steeds, Women-Owned Business Program Administrator for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.  Agi said that the company started the certification process in January of this year.  “We reviewed every facet of our business while working through the application,” Agi said.  “I didn’t realize how difficult the process was until we were deep into it.”

OnlineMedsource is one of only about 400 companies in Oklahoma to have earned the certification.  According to the Department of Commerce, there are 428 Women-Owned businesses across Oklahoma.  “I believe we are one of the few information technology companies listed, and the only electronic health information service,” Agi added.  “We are in some pretty impressive company.”

The Women-Owned Business Certification program is designed to encourage women entrepreneurs to take their ideas to market. The whole focus is to help women compete in the open market. “I have always felt that we could compete on an equal basis with just about anyone. This certification verifies that we can,” Agi concluded.
